???????????????????????????????My passion for Antarctica began while majoring in Physics at the College of Charleston. Both the cutting-edge science and extreme environment of Antarctica appealed to me, and I spent the next five years preparing  to experience the coldest place on earth.

I first deployed to McMurdo Station in 2009 to begin work as a Weather Observer. This experience, as well as access to Antarctic scientists, contract workers, and government officials has given me a unique perspective on the history, politics, and culture in the region.

I’ve collectively spent over two years living on the continent, and have shared these experiences through publications like the College of Charleston Magazine, and the Matador Network. I am author of Occupy Antarctica – A Brief Guide to the US Antarctic Program, and have written extensively about life on the “ice.”

As a writer, scientist, and educator I deliver customized presentations to many schools, businesses and organizations. Please contact me to schedule a time to speak with you!
